I love the whole southern hospitality atmosphere and that’s why Texas is on my list of must-see places to travel to in the near future with my family. The lone-star state offers so much to do and explore for Canadians to enjoy as a whole family, including great food, beautiful scenery, entertainment, outdoor activities and more.
I, for one, am looking forward to the amazing food Texas offers. I hear so much about the mouth-watering barbecues and am really curious about Tex-Mex, which Texans rave about as their Mexican cuisine with a “Texas flare”. If you have a love for food, then you will definitely want to check out all of the Texan cuisine while you’re visiting.

If I went to Texas, I know we would be spending a lot of time outdoors. There’s so much to see and do! The beaches would be one of our first stops I’m sure. It would be great to enjoy the sand and water while in Texas since they have fabulous beaches. I also enjoy hiking, so I would be making my way to the mountains and canyons to explore the natural beauty of the Texas landscape. Sleep outdoors in the many places that offer the perfect spot to camp, and get out in the water for some canoeing, kayaking or fishing.

You can’t think of Texas without ranches and rodeos coming to mind. It’s the perfect opportunity to embrace your inner cowboy or cowgirl and enjoy some horseback riding, take in a stock show, and educate yourself about western history in the many museums and landmarks that provide stories about Old West Heritage.
Did you know Texas is full of family fun? There are lots of attractions, zoos and museums to keep the family entertained. The State Fair of Texas is sure to please the kids and water parks will cool you off. Natural spring-fed pools sound quite relaxing to me!
Texas offers something for everyone, and you’ll be sure to find more than enough to do. I can’t wait to make it there someday and give my kids the opportunity to experience a heart-warming place with so much to do and learn.
Divided in 7 geographic regions makes Texas unique with widely different landscapes that are ideal for beaches, forests, rolling hills and canyons. It’s a scenic marvel! There’s over 600 miles of coastline and beaches to entice you into the outdoors and experience nature’s beauty. Explore Texas and take the time to hike, rock climb, kayak, fish and more!
